New book will exist in same continuity as Darkwing Duck

It almost seemed inevitable, didn’t it?  Still, I’m excited to report that DuckTales will be the next Disney Afternoon property Boom! will be bringing to the comic book stand.

The series writer will be Warren Spector, a video game designer.  Most relevantly, Spector was behind the recent Epic Mickey game for the Nintendo Wii.  Art will be by Miquel Pujol, who has been drawing European Disney comics since the 1970s.

The series launches in May and, notably, will “be set in the same continuity as BOOM!’s Darkwing Duck series.”  I’ve been expecting that.  Should be interesting to see how that plays out.

The first issue’s covers will be drawn by Rescue Rangers artist Leonel Castellani and Darkwing artist James Silvani.  Silvani has his uncolored inks on his blog.  There will be a third, as-yet-unveiled incentive cover available, too.

Hey, with DuckTales and Darkwing Duck being set in the same continuity, what will Launchpad’s place be?
